This community knows how to have fun with monthly brunches, a softball team, Heritage Festivals, Variety Show, outings to the theatre and Minnesota Twins' games, and movie nights.
There are great things to do every month at Epiphany. We love to have fun together. Coming along to these events is a great way to meet people who have things in common with you. Click on the “This Week” button to get all the details.
Sunday Brunch: On the second Sunday of every month from September through May we share continental breakfast after the 8:00 service and brunch after the 10:30 service. Each brunch has a theme and is sponsored by a different group within the church. It is so much fun to eat together and get to know new people. Guests are free!
ABC Group: This group of families with young kids meets periodically to eat and have fun together.
XYZ Group: (eXtra Years of Zest) This group of seniors (55 and better) meet together monthly to take day trips and explore what Minnesota has to offer. Low on cost and high on fun, new people and guests are always invited to be a part and come along.
Happy Cookers Gourmet Group: Groups of eight to ten people meet four times a year to enjoy a five course meal together. You definitely do not need to be a gourmet to join. Enjoy fellowship with singles, doubles, food junkies and the cooking impaired! Contact the church office to find out how to join.
Book Club: A discussion group that selects, reads and reviews books monthly in member’s homes on the third Thursday of each month. Contact the church office for more information.
Epiphany Softball Team: We play on an adult co-ed league sponsored by the city of Maple Grove. The team forms in May and plays on Sunday nights through July. Non-competitive and a great time for everyone. Parties are held at people’s homes after each game.
Coffee Hour Hosts: Everybody takes a turn to make coffee and provide a snack for coffee hour after each Sunday service except for brunch Sundays. The sign-up sheet is on the Fellowship bulletin board in the narthex. Instructions for making coffee are also posted there. Do your part - Sign up today!
Yearly Church Fellowship Events: Other social events include: Heritage Festival, Rally Sunday Ministry Fair, Trips to the Theatre, Variety Show, Epiphany night at the Twins Game, Spring Carnival.

The Altar Guild did the March brunch with 4 different egg bakes, muffins and fruit. Many commented on the variety and everyone enjoyed!
We had 5 families attend the Feb 23 ABC group and discussed quite a bit of information. We came up with the topics and events we’d like to hear about and share. The next gathering will be a potluck on Sat. April 26 from 5-7 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Mother Neysa will talk on “Kids and Prayer”. A sign up sheet will be posted in the Narthex.
I am looking into a Twins game for May 31 for a church event. It has been awhile since we’ve been to one. The summer will be here by then and it would be great to attend as a big group.
Crafters, get your crafts started because in November, a date to be announced later, we will host a craft sale and bake sale. Dorothy Hayes and I are meeting to discuss the details on how this will come together.
And don’t forget about our 50th anniversary Art Festival in December.
Mark your calendars for the 50th Anniversary Sock Hop, Dinner and Silent Auction celebration on September 20th and help Pam Pappas Stanoch if you can.
Be sure to look at what the XYZ group is planning and sign up to join them. They have been doing some neat things and would love to have your participation.
The Men’s group will be doing a baseball theme for the April brunch. Come enjoy the food but sorry no game to view or beer to drink. It still should be a great day to have good fellowship.
Warmer weather is around the corner, patience is a necessity as the long winter comes to an end. HURRAY!!! Enjoy the days when they come with a warmer temperature and thank God for hearing our prayers.
You may have noticed there is a large box in the Narthex labeled SOX BOX. We are collecting socks for donation at our September 20 Sock Hop Dinner/Dance at Forest School. If we get a large number of sox, our D.J. will not charge us that evening. We are looking for all sizes and some fun colors. So, while you are shopping for tomato soup-pick up a pair of socks; or while getting some shampoo-pick up a pair of socks; or if you need nail polish-pick up a pair of socks. What fun to see how fast the box will fill and how many time we need to empty it between now and September 20th. Let's all pitch in (sox, that is). If you have any questions please contact Irene Reuteler.

The group braved the March weather to go to the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul to see Native American artifacts owned by Bishop Henry Whipple. We had a wonderful time.
Upcoming event:
April 5 at noon we are planning an outing to the Regal Cinema at 6420 Camden Ave N to see the The New York Metropolitan Opera do a live telecast of La Boheme (Puccini.) The tickets are $20 for seniors and it is open seating so go early to get a good seat. For more information call Marguerite Harbison.
In late May we plan to go visit some peony gardens. Molly Lyons is coordinating this.
June 4th we are planning to go to a Taize service at Kings House in Buffalo, Mn. Taize is a half hour prayers service using a pattern of scripture, song, prayer and silence. The music uses simple phrases repeated a number of times inviting us to concentrate on God. The service is at 6pm.
July 15 we will do “Feed My Starving Children” from 9:30-11:30 am at the Brooklyn Park location.
In August, weather and corn permitting, we will have our annual corn feed on Thursday Aug. 7 at 6pm.
More information to come as events get closer.
